40,000 Ecstasy pills sold on Ibiza every day during Summer

Police on the Spanish island of Ibiza state that 40,000 Ecstasy pills are sold every day between June and September.

Organized by British drug gangs from Liverpool and Manchester, ecstasy pills are sold for $6 (5 Euros), as opposed to a bottle of beer sells for $15 (12 Euros) in the high end clubs on the island.

In 2008, authorities in Lebanon seized 400 ecstasy tablets.

In 2009, 17,312 ecstasy tablets were seized.

One in four people in Scotland have used drugs

One in four adults living in Scotland have taken illegal drugs at least once in their life, according to a report by the Scottish Government.

The most used drug was marijuana, followed by amphetamines, ecstasy, and cocaine.

Ecstasy seizures on US-Canada border increased in 2006

Seizures of ecstasy by US Customs increased tenfold on the border with Canada.  In 203, 568,220 doses of ecstasy was seized at the border.  In 2006, 5,485,619 million doses was seized.

3.2 million people in the United Kingdom used at least one illicit drug in 2008, according to the British Crime Survey.

Selected Breakdown:

974,000 people used Cocaine.

586,000 people used Ecstasy.

2.5 million people smoked Marijuana.

125,000 people used Ketamine.

Canada number one supplier of ecstasty to Japan

Japan identified Canada as the biggest source of seized ecstasy tablets.  Behind Canada in terms of source countries were the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
