Illegal fishing in Cambodia in first half of 2010
In the first half of 2010, Cambodian authorities reported uncovering 1,772 incidents of illegal fishing in the country.
The authorities seized 321,000 meters of fishing nets and 140 fishing and crab nets.

1,500 Rhino horns traded over three years despite ban
Driven by demand in the Middle East and Asia, between 2007 and 2010 over 1,500 Rhino horns have been traded around the world despite a ban on the trade.

Decline in illegal logging
In 2010, there was a global decline in illegal logging activities of 22 percent since 2002, according to London based Chatham House.
In the time period, Indonesia saw declines in illegal logging of 75 percent, and Cameroon saw declines of 50 percent.
However, illegal logging is so prevalent in Indonesia that in 2010, even with the 75 percent decline, illegal logging activities in Indonesia still consists of 40 percent of all timber harvest.

Amount of wildlife seized by Chinese authorities
From 2007 to June of 2010, Chinese authorities reported seizing 38,599 animal parts weighing 26.63 tons.
In addition to the wildlife animals, 2,753 rare plant varieties weighing more than 55 tons were seized by Customs.

In 2006, the European Union imported around 30 million cubic meters of timber and wooden products made from illegally harvested wood.

World total of illegally harvested timber
The United Nations estimates that 20 to 40 percent of global production of industrial wood has been illegally harvested.
This equals to 350 million to 650 million cubic meters of timber.
