Between December 2006 and December 2011, drug enforcement authorities in Mexico reported arresting 3,439 drug crimes suspects across the country during the five years. Out of that total, 1,072 suspecta went to prison, or one in three suspects.
Between the same time period, Mexico extradited 502 people, with 478 people being sent to the United States.
