Heroin overdose deaths by US military in Afghanistan

Between 2010 and 2011, reports by the United States Army show that 8 solders died from heroin overdose while serving in Afghanistan.

Across the entire Army, the number of solders who have tested positive for heroin has increased ten-fold since 2002. In Fiscal Year 2002, there were 10 reported cases of solders testing positive for heroin. In FY 2010, there were 116 positive results of heroin.
