Market Overview
A report by the Knesset subcommittee on Trafficking in Women released a report in 2005 stating that 3,000 to 5,000 women were trafficked to Israel to work as prostitutes during the past four years.1
A majority were from the former Soviet Union and were purchased for as high as $10,000. 2
Women who are trafficked into Israel comes from the following countries:3
-Russia
-Moldova
-Ukraine
-Uzbekistan
-Belarus
