The Havocscope Indexes are calculated by simply adding up the various black market activities that are currently being monitored by our firm. The source for all numbers in the Indexes are available for view by clicking the corresponding link.  All figures are taken from publicly available sources.

The Index totals should not be viewed as a full representation of the global black market.  As figures are included into the Index only when a source is found, the Index totals are incomplete.  Instead, the Index totals should be viewed simply as a current benchmark and representation of the available information on black market activities at this time.

The Products Index consists of the financial market value of black market products and activities, such as cocaine trafficking and wildlife smuggling.  The estimated losses and values of the activity encompasses global losses of the trade unless specified.  Click on the activity to see the source for the market value as well as all relevant data.

The Countries Index consists of the financial market value of black market activities within a specific country.  The figures are based upon country-wide estimates or the sum of various black market activities.   Click on the country to see the breakdown and sources for the estimated market.
