Cost to Launder Money for Drug Cartels

A former Drug Enforcement Administration agent stated to the New York Times that the fee for the Sinaloa drug cartel to launder their money by professionals may cost over 15 cents to the dollar.

According to officials, up to $50 Billion is laundered in Mexico each year, or up to 3 percent of the country’s GDP.
