Child beggers in Thailand
80 percent of young beggars in the streets of Thailand have come from Cambodia.
The young beggars, ranging in age from newborn babies to 12 year olds, generally work between 8 to 12 hours a day and earn between $9 to $31 (300 to 1,000 Thai Baht). Child beggars are often the victims of human trafficking.

Illegal gambling on 2010 World Cup in Asia
During the 2010 World Cup, police in Asia arrested over 5,000 people for illegal gambling activities and seized more than $10 Million.
Police in Malaysia, China, Thailand and Singapore raided 800 illegal gambling dens where $155 Million in illegal bets were placed during the World Cup.

Amphetamines trade in Thailand
Law enforcement in Thailand estimate that the illegal drug trade in Amphetamines within the country is between 300 million to 400 million pills per year.

Human trafficking in Thailand’s fishing industry
In 2009, 138 human trafficking cases were reported in Thailand’s fishing industry, three times more than the year before.
Human trafficking cases for prostitution and begging remained at the same levels between 2008 and 2009.
The increase in human trafficking for the fishing industry was attributed to a worker shortage of 10,000 people.

Human Trafficking in Burma/Myanmar
According to the United Nations, several thousand people from Burma are believed to be trafficked out of the country each year. The main destination is China, followed by Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

Cost to smuggle workers from Thailand to Japan
Two Japanese men were arrested in Thailand for bringing up to 300 Thais into Japan. The price they were charging per head was $21,000 to bring them from Thailand into Japan.

Pirated textbooks in Thailand
Pirated textbooks are sold in Thailand for prices of 10 to 15 percent cheaper than authorized copies, according to school officials. Textbook providers are able to win competitive bidding contracts by using pirated textbooks to offer a cheaper price to schools.
The most pirated textbooks in Thailand are science, math, Thai and English language books.
