Out of a population of 4 million, there are an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 drug addicts in Lebanon. Most of the addicts are between the ages of 15 to 25.

Lebanon Counterfeit Market

The Lebanese Government losses an estimated $87.5 Million a year (between $75 to $100 Million) to counterfeiting, according to a study by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

$31 million lost to piracy in Lebanon

The United States Trade Representative reported that copyright based industries lost an estimated $31 million in Lebanon,  compared to $26.8 million in 2007 and $25.6 million in 2006.

More than 50 percent of content sold in Lebanon is pirated

According to the IFPI, more than half of all movies, music, and software sold in Lebanon are pirated.  The high rate of counterfeiting occurring within the country is preventing Lebanon from joining the World Trade Organization.
