According to Siddharth Kara, trafficking researcher and board member of anti-trafficking organziation Free the Slaves, “the total revenue generated by the exploitation of all victims of human trafficking in 2007 was $58.6 billion, with profits of $39.7 billion.”

100,000 children in the United States fall victim to sex trafficking

According to a hearing in the United States Senate, US Senator Richard Durbin stated that an estimated 100,000 children fall victim to sex trafficking in the United States each year.

The Senator further stated that the average age that a girl enters prostitution in the United States is 13.
