Cigarette smuggling in Canada leads to 30 percent of cigarettes smoked by high school students in Ontario and Quebec to have been purchased on the black market.

In 2008, 26 percent of the cigarettes smoked by high school students were black market cigarettes.

Up to 40 percent of all cigarettes smoked in the two provinces are believed to have been smuggled and sold without the payment of taxes.
