Cost for drug treatment worldwide

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime estimates that $200 Billion to $250 Billion would be needed to cover all the costs of drug treatment services around the world. The amount that would be needed to provide treatment for all drug users would be equal to 0.3 to 0.4 percent of global GDP.

In actual spending however, less that one in five persons globally who needs drug treatment receives it.
