Crystal meth trafficking in Indonesia

The number of crystal meth trafficking cases investigated by law enforcement in Indonesia has increased in 2011.

In 2010, police invested around 200 cases of crystal meth trafficking within the country. In the first half of 2011, authorities investigated over 700 cases.

The drug, known locally as shabu-shabu, can be sold for up to $228 per gram (2 million Indonesia Rupiah) on the black market.
