According to the International Organization for Migration, 858 victims of human trafficking were identified and rescued in Kazakhstan between 2004 t0 2012. Out of the total number of victims, 559 were women.
In transnational trafficking, Kazakhstan was the source country of human trafficking victims in 410 cases between 2004 t0 2012. The country also identified 326 cases of human trafficking that took place within the country, with both the victim and the destination remaining in Kazakhstan.
