Murder of Trafficking Victims in Italy in 2004

Due to the trafficking of foreign women into Italy, 25 percent of all murders that took place in 2004 in Italy were of foreign women.

Security experts believe that the high number of foreign women who have been murdered in Italy was caused due to human trafficking syndicates killing trafficked women when they attempted to escape or were planning on testifying against the group.
