Number of child brides around the world

UNICEF estimates that 64 million women between the ages of 20 to 24 were forced into a marriage or union before they were 18 years old.

In Afghanistan, despite laws stating that the marriageable age for females to be 16, over 60 percent of marriages in the country involve girls who are under that age.
