Counterfeit Aircraft Parts

News and statistics about the black market in fake airplane parts and counterfeit aircraft parts. Data about the substandard parts are collected from security agencies, government safety officials and other public information sources.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development reported in 1998 that as much as $1 billion of unapproved aircraft parts were in the warehouses of US Airlines and parts distributors.
